The materials I use in this lesson are: Flake White and Ivory Black from Williamsburg Oil Colors. Vermillion Extra, Alizarin Crimson Lake Extra, and Old Holland Yellow-Brown from Old Holland. Another color that you will often find in my basic palette is Raw Umber. The linen is from Claessens, 13DP. The brushes are a variety of synthetic filberts and eclipse combers from Rosemary Brush co.

Understanding the basics of drawing and painting will be helpful. Though, to be honest, a passion for the work of Sargent might be all you really need.
